Ehtesham Islam receives the IEE EDS PhD Student Fellowship Award



ECE graduate student Ahmad Ehtesham Islam receives the IEEE EDS PhD Student Fellowship Award. This award is provided each year to promote, recognize, and support graduate study and research within the IEEE Electron Devices Society's field of interest.
This award is provided each year to promote, recognize, and support graduate study and research within the IEEE Electron Devices Society's field of interest.
Each year IEEE Electron Device Society (EDS) awards five fellowships, with the intention of at least one fellowship being given to eligible students in each of the following geographical regions: Americas, Europe/Middle East/Africa, and Asia & Pacific. The award is given to candidates, who has demonstrated of his/her significant ability to perform independent research in the fields of electron devices and a proven history of academic excellence. This year Ahmad Ehtesham Islam, a graduate student in Prof. Ashraf Alam's group, is selected for this prestigious award. The award - which consists of a plaque and an honorarium - will be presented at the 2008 IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM) on Monday morning, December 15, 2008, at the San Francisco Hilton Hotel, San Francisco, CA. IEEE EDS Newsletter will also feature articles about the EDS PhD Fellows and their work in January 2009 issue.
